What “ChatGPT shopping visibility” should mean for a merchant
There are two different jobs: preparing trustworthy product data for OpenAI commerce surfaces, and measuring whether a product actually appears in a ChatGPT shopping experience. Those should not be mixed together. Lumen currently audits published OpenAI commerce-feed readiness and clearly labels third-party search evidence; it does not relabel that evidence as a direct ChatGPT result.
Start with the product record
Lumen checks the required commerce-feed fields across the reviewed sample and calculates a readiness score. Missing fields become prioritized fixes, so a team can improve the underlying catalog instead of guessing which copy change might help.
Then remeasure
The first assessment establishes a baseline. After fixes are implemented, later measurements can compare recorded product issues, high-priority gaps, feed-field completeness and measured search evidence. No outside provider can guarantee that ChatGPT will recommend a product.
